In 1977, shortly before the Datsun 280Z came to the end of its journey in America, Nissan decided to sell a special series: The Datsun 280 ZZZAP.
But that's not all. Nissan made a deal with arcade game publisher Midway Manufacturing and used the game “Midnight Racer” by programmer Jamie Fenton. The game was renamed and marketed as “Datsun 280 ZZZAP” to use it as a promotional tool.
The car was built around 1000 times and had the following special features: 5-speed gearbox, sunburst yellow paintwork with decor stripes, two sports mirrors and rear window louvers.
