Nissan was constantly busy improving parts, making them better, and adapting them to ever-changing regulations.

More than 50 years later, it is often not so easy to answer the question of "why".
This always involves comparing official documents, talking to contemporary witnesses, or understanding the current situation in Japan and in the world in the 1960s and 1970s.

On this page, we therefore want to look at the history of the parts, compare the different versions and try to explain the circumstances.

The story behind our rubber mats

Only very early exported Datsun 240Zs had rubber mats.

In Japan, on the other hand, this option was very popular, especially in winter.

We like such details and have therefore made reproductions of these rare parts ourselves.

A Hitachi KM-1520ZC radio deep-dive

At first glance, the Zs radio does not appear to be particularly complicated in design. Furthermore, the early models did not even have a cassette player.

But it is worth taking a second look. Because the radios are actually very advanced and technically exciting in their construction.
