This is the story from Christopher Court, a Z addict from Massachusetts:

I bought the car from an older Datsun enthusiast named Armand Teixeira in the State of Rhode Island. I went to purchase 240z parts he had advertised on the internet. When I got there, he showed me the piles of parts he had and then asked me if I wanted to see his car. It wasn't obvious at first that it was so special, as he had bolted on so many aftermarket engine parts and body parts from donor cars. Once it came to light that it was an early car, I did what every Z nut does, immediately ask if it was for sale. He said it was not, but he would consider it as he had his eyes on a vintage Datsun truck that was well known in the 1980s race circuit and was featured in several magazines at the time, this is why he was selling parts. I carefully made my plea for the sake of the car, as I noted it was a bit of an injustice that so many cheap aftermarket parts and body panels from donor cars were not appropriate. He told me he still had all the original parts, but they were not as good as the ones he was putting on. I asked him to consider selling it to me as I would make sure it got the treatment it deserved one way or another, to which he replied that he would think about it. A month later he called me up and said he liked me, and would sell it to me on the condition that I paid the asking price, no questions asked; and he said..." and you have to take all the 240z parts I have, after this I think I'm moving on to something else. It was 17 May 2017 I got the trailer hooked up, got the cash and went back to Rhode Island as fast as I could. We pulled the car on to the trailer, filled the truck cab and bed with parts, and I was on my way. I had to go back two more times for all the rest of the parts! Fortunately, nearly every original engine and body part were in fact in the mix. I made haste to put all the parts back on and just enjoyed seeing the car sit in my shop for a bit before I made the find public to the 240Z community, as I just wanted to soak it in by myself, at least for a while. Once I did make it known, it was a hailstorm of questions and offers from all over the USA, but I wasn't interested in selling it at all. I walked by the car for two years, inspecting it and learning as much as I could about it. The more I learned, and the more I came to appreciate its value, the more I realized I didn't have the resources to do the car justice either. That's when a certain Mr. Chris Visscher came into the picture, and as they say, the rest is history (which you can fill in from here). On 22 May 2019 we signed a bill of sale. A great car and a great friendship came out of it!

Finally, in 2023 we started the restoration process. What sets this car apart is that the first Canadian cars did not have all the emission stuff and no airpump that the US market cars had. If you look in the engine bay, it is almost the same as an EU Final spec car. The car ahas also no vapor tank, so the tank for this car is the least complicated one that is available. Also, the rubber mats and the door rubbers are now installed, so a great addition to the collection.

Passion is in the little things Let's take a closer look

Rubber mats

With such an early Z, everything has to be just right. This also applies to the rubber mats, which we produced especially for it.

The early S30 steering system and all its options

Not every Z is the same and not every component is the same. Particularly with such an early Z, individual parts are still at the very beginning of development.
