Parking lights and unknown switches

When it comes to particularly wild equipment variants and rare components on the Z, you could make a list that is so long that you stop at some point.
Electric windows, transparent indicators, electric mirrors, footrests for the co-driver ... and so on and so on.

But at this point we want to talk about the parking light in the indicators, the related other set of indicators and their switches. And mostly in Japan. Because this function existed there in particular. In Australia too, by the way.

And in fact there was a second socket in the indicators housing for a second bulb, which could switch on a permanent light when parked. This was done via a switch in the center console.

This function was available in Japan in the S30 and S31.

The bulb for the parking light is located under number 15.

The corresponding switch is located next to the switch for the rear window heating in vehicles from 1969 - mid-71. The situation is quite different in the USA and Europe, where the switches are "deactivated".

Easily visible: The 2nd hole on the back of the indicators. There was also a hole like this for the rear lights. The picture on the right shows a lamp housing for the US market. The hole for the parking bulb is closed at the top center of the cover.

Note that the matching switches in the center console differ between the so-called series 1 and series 2 (picture 1), while in later S30s (and also S31s in Japan), the switches also changed again and even became just one switch from mid-1975 (picture 2).
