Electric powered windows and electric powered mirrors

Luxury always remains luxury. Comfort always remains comfort. No matter what you can do genuinely and honestly and by hand, if you can do it without, it's always better.
Nissan thought so too and gave the Fairlady Z electric mirrors and electric windows from the model change from S30 to S31 in 1976. Just like that. And only in Japan.
Well, not quite. Because the door was changed. The sheet metal, the position of the door handle, the door cardboard and the position of the door pin. And of course the window frame and the mechanism inside the door.

Side tip: This is also the reason why no 1975 door fits on a 1976 Z. Or why the 1977 Z has a different door to the 1976 Z. It was down to luxury. And everyone now has to suffer from the fact that they buy the wrong parts 99.4% of the time.

But back to Japan. Because in the meantime, electric assistants have also been installed here as part of the ongoing development of the Z series. And I would like to show you exactly how this has happened.
Note: If you try to convert an EU model from Japanese components, you should not forget that you will then have the switches for both windows on the passenger side. Unless, of course, you are driving a car from England.

Note 2: Of course, both extras were available in the 2-seater and the 2by2.

Image 1: Good to see: the individual components of the door with electric window regulators. Fun fact: Here on the 2by2 and with the offset door pin. But watch out: The panel for the switches is from the other side.
Image 2: On the right: the hole for the switches. We would only have pre-punched it here.

Image 1: Installed, it looks like this.
Image 2: Correspondingly on the passenger side: Only one switch.

Image 1: The corresponding motor is well described in the Micofiche.
Image 2: The Japanese manual describes the new parts in detail.

Less exciting are the switches for the electric mirrors, which are located on the right below the steering wheel.

The controls of the S31 from Japan.

For comparison: The switches of the Nissan 280Z (S130, Datsun 280ZX in export markets).

The mirrors can also be found in the microfiche.
